Apple Intelligence & AI Features

Updated

Overview

Wallet Savvy is built for Apple Intelligence. When enabled, the app gains AI-powered analysis of your spending — all processed privately on your device, with no data sent to external servers.

Enabling Apple Intelligence

  1. Go to Settings → Apple Intelligence
  2. Toggle Apple Intelligence on
  3. Confirm when prompted

Once enabled, AI features activate automatically across the Transactions, Budgets, and Insights views.

Smart Categorisation

Where: Transaction form — triggers as you type the description

When you add a transaction, Wallet Savvy analyses the description and amount and suggests the most relevant category. For example:

  • Type “Tesco” → suggests Groceries
  • Type “Netflix” → suggests Subscriptions
  • Type “Shell” → suggests Transport

Tap the suggestion to accept it, or tap the category field to pick a different one. Suggestions improve as you accept or correct them over time.

Spending Pattern Analysis

The Insights screen uses Apple Intelligence to review your transaction history and produce plain-language summaries of your spending patterns. Instead of reading raw charts, you get context:

  • “Your dining spend has increased 23% over the past three months.”
  • “Subscriptions are your fastest-growing category.”
  • “This month is on track to be your lowest grocery spend in six months.”

Smart Budget Recommendations

Based on your spending patterns, Wallet Savvy surfaces tailored recommendations in the Insights view:

  • Budget targets that are consistently too high or too low
  • Categories where a small reduction would have a meaningful impact
  • Recurring expenses that may no longer be worth keeping

Anomaly Detection

Wallet Savvy scans your transactions for charges that are significantly higher or lower than usual for their category. Anomalies are flagged in the Insights view — useful for catching billing errors, unexpected price increases, or one-off costs you might forget about.

Privacy

All Apple Intelligence processing in Wallet Savvy happens on-device using Apple’s private AI infrastructure. No transaction amounts, descriptions, or spending patterns are ever sent to Kwilio or any third party. Disabling Apple Intelligence in the app does not affect your data.
